I love to read. I always have, for a bit more than 65 years, now. That’s scary! I still have the first book I was given – a biography of the eminent Austrian composer Franz Josef Haydn. Perhaps that contributed to my love for both words and music.
In elementary school, I wasn’t allowed to volunteer in the school library, because I would become so lost in a book that I’d forget (or ignore) what I was supposed to be doing!
This love affair continued: I took a book with me into the labor room when the birth of my daughter was imminent. Mark Twain’s A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court went on my second honeymoon with me.
Now that I’m in the ‘mature’ segment of the population, I find reading even more fun! Most of the time, that is. Just like most readers, I like reading about folks who look like me, or act like me, or are in my age group. So — herewith, The Senior Reader, where you can learn about books for, by and about spiffy seniors! Just like you.

On Valentine’s Day, 2009, a new category was added to my resumé! I am thrilled by this beginning, and have plans for expansion very soon!
